About Me

Hi, I’m Martin! I’m currently living in the beautiful city of Vienna, where I’m pursuing my studies in physics at the Technical University of Vienna. Life here is a great mix of learning and exploring my passions. Alongside my studies, I love to immerse myself in a variety of activities that keep me active and engaged.

Some of my favorite things to do include reading, going for runs, practicing yoga, and keeping up with the latest news. Music is also a huge part of my life—it helps me unwind and stay inspired. Whenever I get the chance, I love to travel and discover new places, cultures, and perspectives. Meeting new people from different backgrounds is something I truly enjoy, as it broadens my horizons and feeds my curiosity about the world.

I’m also proud of my own cultural roots and enjoy sharing them with others, especially through cooking. I often prepare traditional Austrian dishes when I meet new people, as I believe food is a wonderful way to connect across cultures. I’m always up for good conversation, learning from others, and exchanging ideas and experiences that shape who we are.

If you’re into deep conversations, outdoor activities, or simply want to try some Austrian cuisine, I’d be happy to connect!

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a deep love for music, film, and literature that makes me think and feel. I’m a big fan of classic rock like The Beatles and Pink Floyd, as well as soulful artists like Al Green and Lauryn Hill. I also enjoy neo-soul artists like SZA, Solange and Frank Ocean for their emotional depth and fresh sound.

In film, I’m drawn to a mix of drams and hard to get movies like Goodfellas and 12 Angry Men, as well as imaginative stories like Lord of the Rings and Tim Burton’s movies.

When it comes to books, I enjoy classics from authors like Dostoevsky, Austen and Brontee along with non-fiction books that are about the topics politics, psychology, history, and biographies. I'm always curious about the world and what drives people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was sitting in front of a mosque in Kashmir, trying to distract myself from a recent breakup by reading a book. Suddenly, five local guys around my age approached me, and we started talking about our different lives. We sat together, sharing what it was like to grow up in our cultures and discussing tough topics like politics, social issues, and how we behave in certain situations. Everyone had a voice in the conversation, and even though it wasn’t always easy to understand each other’s perspectives, we learned a lot about how our experiences shaped our opinions.

By the end of the day, we were playing cricket and football together at a playground, staying out late into the night before heading home.

What I Can Share with Hosts

When I’m with people, I love sharing laughter, cooking Austrian food, and having deep, meaningful conversations. I’m always curious about different perspectives and enjoy simple moments together. I’m a down-to-earth person, and I try to create an open, comfortable space for connecting with others.
