About Me
After working with private foundations for five years in China, I decided to work for my own community in the future. I want to contribute into building a stronger and more resilient LGBT ecosystem in Asia.
Since I am relatively new to this field professionally, I am eager to talk to leaders from various backgrounds (academia, nonprofit, media, pink economy, health, public policy, art & Culture, etc.) who genuinely care about LGBT issues, aside from doing literature review.
After this trip, I hope to get some preliminary answers to three questions: 1) what's going on in the LGBT field? 2) what are some of the future development trends? and 3) where are some of the critical gaps?
I love knowledge. Everything is interesting to me. I feel hungry all the time for all the unknown stuff and new ideas. I like doing research, making new connections among exsiting facts, and trying to abstract stuff.
I like reading, having a deep and meaningful conversation with people who have interesting stories or different perspectives of life, and travelling. Without any of them, I wil die.
I can be anti-social sometimes. I don't like to talk too much, instead I like to ask questions. I am not good at talking about myself. Sometimes I am evasive to myself. I don't know how to feel myself, so I simply decide to ignore.
I am gay, single, and a little bit alternative. I prefer deep and meaningful connections in life.
Oh forgot to say, I studied Anthropology at school.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I used to choose youth hostels but I find I miss the feeling of closeness. I want to say his to someone I know after a full day of meetings. I want to cook and shop for grocery together. I want to talk about what amazing stories I have heard along the way over a beer or a cocktail.
I also want to feel the local culture. I need to feel I am connected in some way to the local culture, especially by knowing someone who are local.
Interests
Read non-fiction books.
Watch independent movies and documentaries.
Travelling and hiking.
Try local food.
Sometimes I love cooking and can be creative, but sometimes I also don't know how to cook.
Talk to cats.
Find someone I am comfortable with to have a drink, to silence together, and visit an art galery or museum together.
