About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living it out positively with an open heart and a free spirit !

ABOUT ME

I'm half French, half Ecuadorian and part Quebecois in the heart; but really, I'm just from planet earth...
Just finished my master at UCL and now I'm trying to get a job in this economic mess...

PHILOSOPHY

"Today is a gift, that is why it is called The Present"

"Love all, trust a few. Do wrong to none."
-William Shakespeare

"El verdadero revolucionario esta guiado por grandes sentimientos de amor"
-Ernesto "che" Guevara

"The economic anarchy of capitalist society as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of the evil. We see before us a huge community of producers the members of which are unceasingly striving to deprive each other of the fruits of their collective labour...I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals."
-Albert Einstein

"God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables – slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our great war is a spiritual war. Our great depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars, but we won't. We're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off."
-Tyler Durden in Fight Club...

"We need to be the change we wish to see in the world."
-Mahatma Gandhi

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
Plato, Voltaire, Marx, Aldous Huxley, George Orwell, Margaret Atwood, Naomi Klein, Khalil Gibran, Eduardo Galeano and many others... I usually read non-fiction but I also enjoy a good novel from time to time.

Movies:
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Motorcycle Diaries, Big Fish, all Batmans, Inception, Catch me if you Can. Any Terry Gilliam, Tim Burton, Stanley Kubrick, Hayao Miyazaki or Akira Kurosawa movie. I also like watching documentaries on all sorts of random stuff (The 11th Hour and Home are probably my favorites).

Shows:
I don't watch TV in genera but I do watch a few shows online such as:
The Big Bang Theory, Californication, Monty Python's Flying Circus, The Daily show, anything on Al Jazeera...

Music:
I love listening to any band or DJ that tries to be different or has something important to say.
Overall, I like almost anything that's not commercial from classical, jazz, rock and metal to electronic, drum and bass, spy-trance and trip-hop. Some bands I like these days are Parov Stelar, Air, Bonobo, Pretty Lights, Thievery Corporation, Quantic and Chinese Man...

Food:
I love cooking and experiencing with new spices and flavors. Indian, Mexican, Japanese, Thai and French food are among my favorites but I pretty much love anything that's vegetarian or -even better- vegan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've conducted a research project in the largest informal settlement of Accra the capital of Ghana. It was the harshest environment I have ever witnessed people live in. The slum is in the middle of the city's garbage dump site and receives a large around of it's waste water. Yet people there have joined together and organised in such a powerful way that the place became one of the most hopeful and enchanting examples of the beautifull aspects of human nature.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can give you a crash course on many political and ecological issues... or at least a good conversation on them... I also have a decent knowledge of philosophy, sociology, anthropology and history... Always up for sharing knowledge and exchanging ideas...
Have also been practicing yoga for over five years so can teach you a bit and I have some neat vegetarian and vegan cooking skills to share...
