About Me

I'm a guy who's interested in a million of different things and I love hosting people.
I love eating and drinking, I'll never turn down a nice glass of whisky and I'm always happy to try good food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When traveling I learned that staying with locals makes the experience so much richer. You get someone to really show you their world. Also, I'm not at all interested in monuments what really fascinates me is the day to day living experience. What do people REALLY do? When you learn what people really do, you can take many things that you can actually apply to your own life.
And this is also why I like to host: there are so many small things that are beautiful about Germany and the Netherlands, that you won't ever see if you're only traveling by travel guide. I'd love to show you the little things that make life good here.

Interests

Anything actually. Especially if it has anything to do with the human mind, with art, culture, science. I love electronics, woodworking, programming, crafts, but I don't play an instrument.

Music, Movies, and Books

*checking my playlist* lately I've been listening to Tallest Man on Earth, Flight of the Conchords, Johnny Cash, Alle Farben, Santigold, Bonobo, Gorillaz, Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Beatles.
Ratatat's new Album 'Magnifique' is a total blast!

The book that I've read most recently is
Haruki Murakami '1Q84'
which incidentally is indeed my favourite author.

Favourite movies? There are so many.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving from 18.000 feet (5.5km) in Hollister, CA, USA was pretty neat. (Albeit a bit cliché, I admit)

Teach, Learn, Share

If there's something you can teach me (or I can teach you) involving tools, I'd be up for that.
If you can show me something about the human mind (like a cool magic trick), that would be nice also.

I'm most confident in English, but we can also converse in Dutch or German if you want to learn the language.

What I Can Share with Hosts

There's definitely room for two guest in our apartment. It's cozy and a little outside of the town, you'll like it.
