About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I believe that the world has many new experiences to offer and my mission is to turn this experiences into new lifelong memories.

ABOUT ME

Hello everyone! Currently I am living in an appartment in Rotterdam, after living in Breda for two years. Already six years ago I have visited my father living in New Zealand, after which I created a passion about travelling. My life is quite busy with working and studying but I still plan on travelling several times a year. My plan: is to enjoy life as much as possible and therefore make travels to learn new cultures on a regular bases.

PHILOSOPHY

- Remember the past but live for the moment while keeping your eyes open for new experiences in the future

- Make the best of your life, care for each other and take every opportunity which represents itself. And most importantly: don't ever regret a bad decision in the past, just learn from it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've participated through organizing a couchsurfing meeting in my former town of Breda, surfing a couple of times and helping a fellow Couchsurfer with her bachelor thesis about Couchsurfing & Trust through an interview. Furtermore I started hosting people when I got my own apartment in Rotterdam.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started with Couchsurfing in January of 2012, in a half year time period I surfed in Switzerland, Antwerp, Oxford, Manchester and Budapest. Every experience was genuinely interesting and so much better than a hotel bed. Perfect!

Interests

- Travelling (offcourse!) The best way of travelling, in my opinion, is to get out of the 'plastic' hotelrooms. Yes a thousand dollar room is nice, but isn't every hotelroom the same?

- Adventure. I like living within my comfort zone as it's comfortable. Yet I believe that your grow as a person when you step out of your comfort zone. Travelling and adventure tend to get me out of my comfort zone, which I always really enjoy looking back on it.

.- Friends. Drinking a beer, watching a movie and sometimes playing a couple matches of soccer.- Soccer. I love to watch and go to a soccer stadium!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is always on and it's music when it provides sound out of the speakers! I also like to relax while reading a book or to be inspired by nice movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Deciding to take the opportunity to travel around the world! After picking the wrong kind of study I suddenly had a half year off. Instead of 'doing not that much' I decided to jump on a plane and fly to my dad ( living in New Zealand). The things I've seen and done have changed me forever!

- After driving six hours straight arriving at a hostel in a beautiful place. Instantly I was invited to join a home cooked dinner ( which was delicious) and afterwards relaxation in a hot tub.

- Making my dream a reality: flying a plane! I did this in Wellington, New Zealand, and it was just simply amazing!- One of the last matches of my favourite soccerteam: Feyenoord. Watch this video ( starting 0:40) and you most likely will know what I mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIo4p5LbTj0. I just felt amazing after the second goal in two minutes!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am happy to teach what I can teach to others and learn what there is to learn but most importantly I am always open for a good talk to share :)
I would like to share all my experiences and thoughts I have about life.
