ABOUT ME

I guess my tolerance and flexibility/ opportunism would be mentioned by most my friends. (The latter I hope only by myself.) I have lots of energy and very varied interests. I am a jack of all trades and master of none. There is a change in our lives in that we no longer live together, but continue to share this profile and our surfers (sometimes). We live in Ceske Budejovice and have hosted quite a lot of people from all over the planet. I am addicted to my window to the world from my place of work, an international school and hosting couchsurfers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Martin has been couchsurfing in Vienna in 2009, in 2011 we both surfed in London for a couple of days. Otherwise we have hosted, the last three visitors were from Hong Kong, where I am on holiday at the moment, also meeting up with the people we met at home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

3 nights in Vienna. Two nights in London. Great experience.

Interests

Martina....I like literature while I am skating and going to see plays while I am dancing, taking photos while I am eating with friends or family,learning languages while I am swimming and generally being quite an intelligent person as you can gather from the above.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Martin....The Alps. Especially Dolomites in the Norht of Italy. When I saw a ladder over a deep gash I couldn´t imagine the force which could make me to climb it. It was only 20 meters long. Under my feet only rocks. A single wrong movement could have killed me. It was high up in the mountains (2500 meters over the sea level). And after I had managed to climb this ladder I learned, that I can trust myself more than ever (Martin) I have no problem with heights but I also wasn´t there.
(Martina) The icesurface of a frozen river and the noise the ice makes. Amazing nature underwater, mainly on television. Skies everywhere and beautiful.Snowstorms, our little old house lit up coming round a corner...
