About Me

CURRENT MISSION

walk the earth with open mind, meet people, get into adventures, learn about different problems and different solutions

ABOUT ME

------------------------------------------------------------
I spent first 24 years of my life in Czech Republic and almost felt to "normal life". Then first big journey (New Zealand) opened my eyes and mind and my way of life changed.
------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not sure if really I'm but I hope I'm active, down to earth, open minded, inquisitive, modest (usualy equiped with sleeping bag and mat so 3m2 of floor space are enought for me ;)

Rather quiet observer than entertainer (chilling out, playing with thoughts, enjoying moment) but happy to join interesting discussion, game, trip or do something crazy.

Strongly prefer less traveled paths, adventures over assurance - hitchhiking, CouchSurfing, Opensource... Be positive and positive things happens to you. And it's fun :)

Maybe is hard to get know me.
I found myself in following discussion :)
Shrek: Ogres are like onions.
Donkey: They stink?
Shrek: Yes. No.
Donkey: Oh, they make you cry.
Shrek: No.
Donkey: Oh, you leave em out in the sun, they get all brown, start sproutin' little white hairs.
Shrek: NO. Layers. Onions have layers. Ogres have layers. Onions have layers. You get it? We both have layers.
Donkey: Oh, you both have layers. Oh. You know, not everybody like onions.

PHILOSOPHY

I apparently love quotes, because somebody already told that before and much nicely. Here are two I like the most:

"All the experiences you have in all the countries in all the mountains. The change who you are, they mold who you are. They become become something what's life enhancing and life defining"
- Joe Simpson

"Youth is not a time of life it is a state of mind. It is not a matter of red cheeks, red lips and supple knees. It is a temper of the will; a quality of the imagination; a vigor of the emotions; it is a freshness of the deep springs of life. Youth means a tempermental predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over a life of ease. This often exists in a man of fifty, more than in a boy of twenty. Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years; people grow old by deserting their ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, doubt, self-distrust, fear and despairthese are the long, long years that bow the head and turn the growing spirit back to dust. Whether seventy or sixteen, there is in every beings heart a love of wonder; the sweet amazement at the stars and starlike things and thoughts; the undaunted challenge of events, the unfailing childlike appetite for what comes next, and the joy in the game of life. You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt; as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear, as young as your hope, as old as your despair. In the central place of your heart there is a wireless station. So long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, grandeur, courage, and power from the earth, from men and from the Infiniteso long are you young. When the wires are all down and the central places of your heart are covered with the snows of pessimism and the ice of cynicism, then are you grown old, indeed!"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I'm offering a couch in beautiful and quiet part of Czech Republic. Just under Beskydy mountains with nice views and trails starting nearby. Unfortunately it is so quiet that nobody ever showed up!
So I'm traveling and getting in touch with interesting people, enjoying moments, sharing fun.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Since I started CouchSurfing I discovered difference between tourist and traveler. Best quote on this topics was said by Gilbert K Chesterton:

"The traveler sees what he sees, the tourist see what he has come to see."

Despite of all "Must see", "Must do" you hardly experience spirit of particular country. With CS you can. My hosts shared me their daily lives, interests, hobbies, worries... It's very eye and mind opening.

What kind people, that kind of country. How can you get to know country if you meet just fellow foreigners and bus drivers?

Teach, Learn, Share

I mentioned this topic partially in CS experience.
I love talking about history and current issues because people solves different situations in every region and what is "normal" at one region could be totally odd in other region.

Have you known that Czech coin are sized by value? 1CZK coin is the smallest, 50CZK biggest
