ABOUT ME
My name is Martin Huber and I am 26 years old. After finishing a college for mechanical and process engineering I worked as a volunteer in a school in Norway.
Later I started working as a technical design engineer at a company in Austria.
Since autumn 2010 I have been studying English and History on university in Vienna.
In future I would enjoy teaching in school and participating in further volunteer programs:)
I am a very outgoing, talkative and active person. In summer I usually do a lot of hiking tours in the Austrian Alps. I love being outdoors and enjoy the wonderful panoramic views up in the mountains:)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was couchsurfing in Oslo, when I was living in Norway for nine months in 2008. Currently, I am hosting people in my flat in Vienna. So far, my hosts have always been very friendly, open-minded, welcoming. In September 2012 I tried couchsurfing in London and it turned out to be an amazing holiday:D Just a few weeks later I hosted two awesome backpackers from the US back home in Vienna. During the past two years I haven´t had the time to host more guests, exept one couple from Bulgaria in 2013. I´d love to get back on track though!! So, please don´t hesitate to send my your couch requests!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
During my voluntary service in Norway, I once did a two day hiking tour up to a cliff called "Preikestolen" which is 604 meters above sea level. From there one can enjoy an amazing view of the Lysefjord and all the ambient mountains:D
In 2012, I had another unique hiking adventure. My roommate and I were on a seven day trip in Tyrol and I saw 13 ibexes on the first day of the tour. These animals got rare in the Austrian wilderness.
Also in 2012, some friends and I tried cliff jumping at a lake in Austria. It was breathtaking to see some 14-year-old guys jumping down from up to 20 meters. Although I was really scared, I tried a jump from a height of 12 meters, but ohhh this hurts...bad landing:(
In summer 2013 I spent six weeks working on three different organic farms in California and North Idaho, travelling from San Francisco up to Moyie Springs and back again travelling by train, bus and hitchhiking:D An awesome experience!
