In June 2017, I finally realized my big dream of living abroad and moved (temporary) from Switzerland to the southeastern part of the US. There, I work as an au pair (a foreign nanny, who lives for a year or more with an American family and helps taking care of their children). One of the main goals of the au pair year, is, gaining a cultural exchange at first hand.
That and getting in contact with locals are the main reasons, why I’m on CS, too.
During my stay in the US, I got the chance to travel 21 States and one district, as well as the beautiful country of Canada. Also, before I came to the US, I traveled a couple of countries in Europe and visited Thailand twice – yes, I do have some funny, adventurous stories to tell (if you’d like to hear them, of course) :-)
My friends would describe me as an open-minded, very laid-back person with a good sense of humor. And even though I might not be a typical Swiss, in some points, I still have a lot in common with the natives from cheese, chocolate, mountain & watch country: I’m reliable, friendly and tidy.
When I’m traveling, I’m out and about most of the time. For, I’d like to get the most out of my stays. Of course, I need to get rest too and need to have some relaxing-time, which I like to spend in restaurants, cafés, Bars in parks or somewhere close to the water.
