Overview
About Me
My name is Martina, I am 23 years old, and I have a degree in sociology from the University of Trento (Italy). I consider myself a sunny, sociable, and open-minded person (every day I try to open it a bit more ahah:)). Over the past few years I have been active within Mediterranea Saving Humans (an association engaged in actions to support operations at sea and to raise social, cultural and political awareness in society to respect human rights, fight prejudice and the inclusion of migrants) and within the feminist political movement called Non Una di Meno (thanks to which I was introduced to the feminist struggles and raised awareness of the issue in my daily life).
I love to explore the world and meet new people to make connections with!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
This year I have decided, together with my boyfriend Francesco, to take a gap year to dedicate to the travel dimension. Our destination is Central America: the idea is to start in Mexico and travel all the way to Panama. Given our unwillingness to follow fixed itineraries and our curiosity and desire to get to know different people, cultures and traditions, this platform seems super suited to us and the type of trip we would like to take. Besides, we think there is no better way to get to know a place than by relying on and trusting the people who live and love it!

Music, Movies, and Books
Thanks to living in Lisbon for the whole summer, the Brazilian Bossa Nova genre is currently my favourite, but I admit that I am ready to be captivated by other melodies!
Teach, Learn, Share
I would very much like to share and exchange information regarding the different ways of living life depending on the various cultures and social contexts to which people belong (you can tell I study sociology haha). I would be very happy to let people know where I come from, Trentino, a region in the north of Italy, with its traditions and popular sayings. I am open to talk about any experience, whether it involves travelling or not, the important thing is that it's a dialogue that puts everyone involved at ease:)
What I Can Share with Hosts
What I can offer is (I hope) nice company, help around the house, smiles, stories and, of course, a cold beer!
