About Me

I'm a very kind and open person and uncomplicated. I'd love to hang out with a host or a guest but it's also okay if the other person wants his or her space :)

I grew up in the middle of the Alps with only one neighbour and surrounded by forests and fields... do you know Heidi? just like her ...

So when it was time to decide what to do with my life I decided to go away and to study in Venice archaeology. After my BA I decided to do my Master abroad and now I'm living in southern Sweden, which is a little cultural shock (Swedes and Italians are a little bit different :D )

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think Couchsurfing is a great way to travel. It's a completly different thing to visit a city and stay with people that actually live there. Usually the locals can give sooo much more insight to the "true" image of a place. I know that from experience from Venice, where I lived for 4 years and where I always felt bad for the tourists because it is basically impossible to go to the right places and do the right things if you don't know the city very well.
And of course couchsurfing is great to meet new people.

Interests

I loove cooking and eating - lets not forget the eating! Especially the italian kind of cooking and eating - meaning that you cook together and while you cook you basically start already eating this or that and have one or two glasses of wine and theen the actual eating begins :D followed of course by coffee!

also I love to read and I like walking. For example I think the best way to explore a city is by walking. Also, I like hiking... which is basically walking. I grew up in the middle of the Alps, so you kinda have to like hiking! :D

And I draw; just as an exercise... it's really calming and you stop thinking.

Music, Movies, and Books

On this topic I have to say that it is really difficult to answer this because I think the favourite music/movie/book depends very much on the situation... especially with music; but I will try to answer anyways...

I have a very broad taste in music... I don't really like the extrems, like Death Metal or Electro; also I'm usually not a big fan of the music thats in the charts nowadays... I mean once in a while there are also good songs, but not too often I think. I'm more into Jazz, Rock, etc.

With books I'm reading basically everyting, from the Bible to children's books. The books that impresse me most are usually the classics though, like: almost every book of Hesse, "the old man and the sea" of Hemingway", "1984" of George Orwell, "Crime and Punishment" by Dostoyevsky, "Il deserto dei tartari" by Dino Buzzati, "Candide" by Voltaire, and so on and so on

movieeees... hmmm... sometimes I like to watch bad movies, like really bad romance (like "the princess diary") or action movies ("Pacific Rim") , aaand then on other days I enjoy "good" movies.. which is for me: Tarantino movies, "Requiem for a Dream", "Fight Club", "The Fall", etc.
a... what I really don't like is Horror movies, like "Saw" or "Hostel"... can't watch those!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

hmmm... don't know if I've done something that other people would consider amazing....

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm more then happy to cook for someone and to learn new recipies :)

I can teach you "Watten", which is the most important card game from my region (South Tirol) and comes in handy when you want to socialize with the locals!
