About Me

CURRENT MISSION

looking for my own adventure!

ABOUT ME

My name is Martina, 26 years old, from the Northern Italy.
After graduating and travelling a little bit, here I am in Sweden!
I'd describe myself as a very easy going person, I love nature, music, foreign cultures. Therefore I believe travelling is one of the most exciting experiences that a person can do. I have only recently discovered CouchSurfing and, well, I think there is no better way to discover a place than through local people's eyes!

PHILOSOPHY

Live everything as your greatest adventure: the only impossible journey is the one you never begin!

Have you ever felt inspired by a video? I have!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate to all the CS events, meeting and gatherings I can, especially in the Milan area! The group is really well organised, with weekly meetings, BBQs, happy hours, parties and unusual fun events!... Give them a chance, you will not regret it! :D And I might be there, as well! xD

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've mainly been hosted while travelling here and there, but I host every time I can and always take the chance to attend meetings and events. Only great experience, so far... So much fun! :)

Interests

Uhm, hard to get a list. Well, I'll try to pick some:
Science: it's my field of work, after all.
Music and instruments: if you play anything, I'll immediately ask you to play something for me! :D And share, share the music you like!
Martial Arts: I've been practicing a long, they have always fascinated me!
Nature. New places. People. Different cultures. Social events and stuff. Music festivals. Celtic festivals. Camping. I don't know, I'm very curious, everything may arouse my attention!

Music, Movies, and Books

I mainly listen to metal (more than one side, just to mention some: Dark Tranquillity, Insomnium, Folkstone, Equilibrium, Ensiferum, Sentenced, Eluveitie, Arkona, Rammstein, Firewind, Finntroll, Pain Of Salvation, Sonata Arctica, Edguy, etc...) but I also love every kind of folkish stuff (The Dubliners, Irish Rovers, Orthodox Celts, Fiddler's Green, Paddy and the Rats, Battlefield Band, The Corrs, etc..). And, of course, the mix of them :)
I'm actually open to every sort of acustic/live music, being it played in a pub or along a road.
I also love singing-songwriting, Italian friends will understand if I mention De André, Guccini, (the old) Nomadi, or Max Gazzè.
Oh, and some instrumental good/curious music too, like Ludovico Einaudi, or Lindsey Stirling. She is especially amazing, I hope to see her live sooner or later!

I don't watch many movies, but I usually enjoy most of genres a part from splatter/horror movies!

I read everything which arouse my curiosity and my imagination, from fantasy saga to scientist biographies, from popular classics to fairy tales.
Oh, and I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter. Yes, I am. No, it's not for kids. Don't judge me! :P

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Experiencing the strongest wind on a cliff near Dublin, while lying among the high grass with my best friend.

First Northern Lights of my life in Lofoten Island, in the middle of August, while the night sky was still bright. Breathtaking!

Sunset in the middle of a lake surrounded by forests, near Göteborg.

Rowing in the Norwegian sea.

Randomly dancing Folk Music around a fire, with a big crowd, after folk metal festival! :)

Sitting on the edge of the Cliffs of Moher and looking at the ocean crashing against the rocks! Experiencing the real Trads Sessions in Cork and Derry!

Visiting an abandoned Buddhist temple with a monk who was following and singing. Enjoying the meal at the same temple, with welcoming Cambodian people: simple Rice and fish soup have never tasted so good!

Practicing Tai Chi at 5:30 am with Thai masters in Lumphini Park, Bangkok.
