Overview
About Me
I've been living in Switzerland, close to Zurich for 18 years. My younger son is still living with me, because he is a Student at the Uni Zurich. The older son is living and working as a dive instructor in Malaysia. Before that I lived with my (back then) husband and our two sons for 8 years in Maryland; first on our 9m / 30 ft. sailboat and later ashore close to Baltimore.
I love traveling and nature and am very fortunate to live on the slope of a hill (Albis 800m) close to Zürich. Above me are only nature reserves, sometimes deer, foxes, sheep and cows. We live in a 3 room apartment on the upper floor of a 4 story building. So I can offer a sleeper-couch in the living room. In the summer I can ride my bicycle along a river and along lake Zurich to work, a private medical laboratory close to Downtown Zurich.
I like to eat fresh food (not that I don't also eat swiss chocolate and drink some Scottish Whisky ... ;) ) . I love going to the food and flower market on Tuesdays or Fridays in Zurich. The fresh veggies just taste a lot better then the ones from the supermarket..
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I go traveling I love to see and be in nature, love to see the old cultural sites, but most of all I like to spend time and learn to know the people. Until now I went to small Guest Houses or monasteries, B&B's ... But since I learned about Couchsurfing, I think that's a even more wonderful way to learn to know people, talk to them, find out about their culture ...

Music, Movies, and Books
Mantras, Oriental Music, Michal Jackson
I watch movies to learn something about people or myself, and also for fun
Right now I am reading the Outlander Novels and otherwise I enjoy books like The Celestine Prophecy Series, Conversations with God by Donald Walsch, "Now" by Eckhart Tolle ...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There is not only one thing:
I crossed the Atlantic on a 9 m / 30 ft sailboat with 2 cats and my later husband,
gave birth to 2 wonderful boys, met a Tiger eye to eye, visited Bodhgaya, where Buddha was enlightened ....
Teach, Learn, Share
If you want to learn some basics of Tango or Oriental dance :), I can show you a bit.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share stories about my travels, my life, my insights ... and I would love to hear yours
... and swiss chocolate ;) and swiss cheese. With the swiss cheese we can make my favorite swiss dish: Älplermakkaroni
