About Me

I always have the same problem when I try to describe myself, when I am in front of the computer it seems I am an unknown person to myself, that happens every single time. After explore my mind I can start to say something about me.

In november 2013 I decided to take my backpack and quit to "everything" in my life, I took that plane to Australia with a backpack full of doubts and fears. After a couple of months I realized that I was living the trip of my life or in better words I was living the life which I loved; since that moment I could not stop and I traveled trough Oceania, Asia and Europe for more than 2 years. One day during this trips I realized that TRAVELING IS ONE WAY TICKET, after such an important experience, such an aperture of our mind; our life is not going to be the same, we are not going the be as we were.

I am an easy going guy that loves learn and shear with other people; especially with the people that I love like family and friends. I love football (the real one ;)), beer, fernet, Peñarol, BBQs and good wine.

Another thing I know about myself is about my future. I will be working to change the paradigm of our lifestyle in a new one which will be more empathetic with the planet , the human beings and the environment.

Now, I just came back of traveling for 2 years; so, I want to pay back a little bit to universe all the help that it gave during my trip, so let's start with the basic "host travelers"! .

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I was in Uruguay before start my trip, I was pretty curious about travellers and one day I signed up to couchsurfing because one friend told me something about it. I had never used it before my arrive in India and through a very good friend who introduced me to this world.

I had my first to experience in Aurangabad, when we arrived to the house a our host (very friendly and kind Indian young man), we finished that night having traditional Sudanese dinner with 4 Sudanese student that they were living there. It was an awesome experience, so after that I decided to get involved in this world of couchsurfing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- I decided to have the life which I love

- I reached the peak of a little mountain in the Himalaya (4700m)

- I worked in one of the biggest farms in Australia, living one of the most extreme weather I had ever lived.

- I learnt how to travel alone and stay alone for long periods of time.

- I started to share my thoughts with the rest of the people writing in my blog which I started during my trip. www.sermundo.com

- I learnt how to hitchhike in China, A firend and I did all the way from Chengdu to Beijing, covering more than 3000km.

- I survived with a firend a whole month in China only getting money out postcards that we made with our own photos during our trip through China. My first and unique experience as a professional photographer.

- I treveled trough Mongolia with a motorbike, more than 2900km on paved roads, dirt roads, deserts, steppes, rivers, mountains and more!

- I hitchhiked in some countries without know the local language. Like Myanmar, Thailand, China and Russia.

- I hiked the "W" circuit of Torres del Paine National Park in Chile; it is not a really odd achivment but it was bloody great!

Teach, Learn, Share

My life is about these three words: Teach, Learn and share. I reckon this three word should be only one word. Because does not matter if we are doing one these 3, at the same thime we doing the other two. When you are teaching you are shearing and the same time you are learning about the another person. Also is the same when you are learning you share and at the same time you teach to your teacher. So, basicly the three word coexist at the same time in all of us who are involved in the process of "teaching-learing-Sharing". Teach, learn or share without the other two it is only data transfer between machines.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As a guest:
A friendly guest, that always has a big smile and want share stories, ideas, thoughts and time with everyone.

As a host:

A relaxed evaroiment where you can be yourself without trying to be a different person or trying to like me of pretend that you know me. I found out during my experience as a traveler that some Couchsurfers are quite obsessed with the thing "do not use me as free accomodation place" and you are coming because me not because anyhing else; so they trick you all the time in order to check those things. I like to keep the thing simple so do not worry about that, I am not that kind of people and like to know you face to face and not reading your profile.
