CURRENT MISSION

My current mission objective, which I pursue with wholehearted zeal and ruthless determination, is to convince as many people as possible that you don't have to HAVE a mission in life: you can just enjoy it.

ABOUT ME

I'm highly intelligent, and curious about the world and its people. I'm widely traveled, well read, and I love to talk - it's a real plus to me if other people want to chat. I'm a very happy person and I like other people who are happy, and I like making other people happy - that's the thing that attracts me to couchsurfing, I guess. I'm not a wild party person, and I'm happier chatting and having a meal with a group of friends rather than at a nightclub or a big party. I know a lot about Sydney, and have done guided tours with lots of 'friends of friends'.

PHILOSOPHY

I think it is possible to over-think things. As long as you enjoy life, and don't ruin it for others, I think that's all there is to it. Have fun, and occasionally bring happiness into other people's lives too.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to host interesting people very occasionally, just to expand my horizons a bit. I may decide to do some couchsurfing later when I travel. Prefer short-term stays.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted once, and had a good time doing it. I will occasionally offer invites when I feel like it ... couchsurfer hosting has the same thrill of meeting completely new and different people as traveling - except that it is rather like a Home Delivery version!

You know, I'm not going to include anything here, because I don't really think that similarities of likes are a particularly good indicator of whether you get on with people. You can 'like' whatever you want on these topics: I'll enjoy your company if you are an interesting person rather than have a similar selection of 'media likes' to me.

I once saw a line of penguins zip one by one out of the icy waters of Port Lochroy, Antarctica onto the shore - and then one was taken mid-leap by a leopard seal, which then tossed it about like a cat with a mouse. Nature red in tooth and claw.
