I find it difficult to describe myself as I am a bit of a contradiction. I've always considered myself a loner but I've recently realised that all my favourite memories are special moments I share with other people.

I'm happiest when I'm learning something new; either by exploring somewhere on my own, by reading, or by talking with somebody. I am fascinated by people's stories and perspective on life so I tend to ask a lot of questions.

At home (in Ireland) I worked as an environmental scientist and I have a huge love of nature and I am very passionate about conservation. It is my dream to start up a tree planting charity and I travelled around Europe to learn from people with similar ideas.

I set up my Couchsurfing account years ago but I never had to use it, people I met on my travels treated me like a brother and it's an experience I will never forget. Magic exists in every lovely moment... The kindness of strangers is incredibly humbling and I want to thank you in advance for reading this.

I am trying to figure out how everything is linked... How nature is tied into the music, literature, customs, folklore and religion of an area, how people think and feel, and what do they dream about.

In the summer of 2014 I travelled the long forgotten Hippy Trail. I hitch hiked from Prague, through the Middle East to India.
