About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live a little!

ABOUT ME
I'll tell you something right away before starting my presentation. I don't accept people who send me the same message they send everyone else. I pretty much only accept people who read my profile. I love couchsurfing because it's a place to meet people while visiting somewhere. I'll be the best guide you'll ever see but just take interest in trying to meet the person who is going to house you. Just want to make sure you don't just care about the couch, but the person who houses you too. Anyways, I love you even though I've never met you. Now to the presentation ( and I'm sorry about this if you were still going to send me a personalized message anways) :).
Hi!
My name is Martin, I'm 26 and am originally from Argentina. I lived in Lille for 6 years to study International cooperation. Now I'm living in Nantes because it's the second coolest city I've seen in France! Why France? Well let me tell you why. I had an epiphany one day while living in Buenos Aires and thought to myself: "What's the best way to learn french Martin?", and the best conclusion I came up with was to surround myself with frenchies and listen to them talk!
Now I'm stuck in this crazy city in France, and I love it!
Some people think I was nuts for picking Lille, but I think they are completely crazy for not seeing and appreciating Lille as much as I did. But Nantes is different, everyone seems to love the place!
I'ts been almost seven years now and I still haven't been able to bore myself of France hehe. There's always something to do and always some friends to go out with.
But that's just a little about me, I hope I can learn a little bit about you too someday!

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live! Nothing else to say.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I like the idea of being able to share your little piece of paradise while getting to know someone else and their culture in the process. In a way it also lets you start knowing people from all around the world and sometimes help people be able to experience the place at another level because of some tiny little secrets you might know about your city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

At first, being on here was just a test to see how things would work themselves out and how the page worked. I didn't have too much interest or time to travel so I stuck to just hosting. I started hosting 1 person every 2-3 months and thought it wasn't enough as every time I had someone over I ended up loving the experience!

I can't say I'm a perfect host, I'm too clumsy for that. I'll usually let things happen day by day without planning too many things out, that way people get to see my way of life as it is!

In the end though, I think I'm not the right person to talk about how I host, You should check out what people who stayed here said. I've loved having every single one of them over!

Interests

I like cooking, watching movies/series, eating (a lot), learning new things, walking around and getting lost but just enough to find yourself, playing sports. I love doing things spontaneously, and just sitting down and talking to people and get to know them a bit. My ideal place to go out at night is either a bar with friends or a house. I don't usually go to clubs.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I love a wide variety of things, although my favorite is by far rock (Jimi Hendrix, Free, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc...) followed by anything that has a good bass player holding it together like reggae, ska, punk, while I do appreciate a good Pavarotti or Mercedes Sosa song.
I love pretty much anything that has a good beat.

Movies: Anything that makes you wonder how it could end, thrillers (in the sense that the tension of the movie is always high). My favorite movie is probably Gladiator but it depends on the day.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't know, you guys seem wiser than me, I hope I can learn something from you actually.
