About Me

"I make punctual jokes in current situation and always try to see things in optimistic way." - Me, when I had to present myself in a sentence.

I´m still searching myself in this world - I did couple of jobs throughout my life - seasonal worker, manager, Amazon warehouse worker, copywriter, magazine editor, translator (current). Traveling helps alot!

I make friends very fast since I fool around and quickly find personal limits. I find it very easy to make somebody laugh (cashiers in stores, random people on street, ...even people that should really act seriously in some situations (hello policemen!:D ), which can be a problem for them.. and for me)

Some people told me I should be:
an actor,
a theater player,
a face-imitator,
a voice-actor,
advertisement voice-actor,
movie trailer voice-actor,
Mr.Bean/Benny Hill/Ace Venture/Charlie Sheen type of guy,
"The King Joker"(what?),
stand-up comedian,
village crier,
stage speaker,
leader,
me
...well, MAYBE, they are right, i dont know :D

(( YES, There is an actual city called the same way as my name is! Its amazing you noticed! There are more such names and cities like that in Slovakia - come visit the land of citynames! ))

(((as you can see I like using brackets too much)))

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people, get to know other places and cultures.
I didnt do much couchsurfing, just realised what kind of life experience it can offer to both the surfer and host.

Interests

Computer games - sometimes I play alot, sometimes i dont play anything for weeks. It has come to the point that I look very critically on computer games and so they can bore me very quickly if they are repetitive (and mostly they are). I like to say that I grew up with a controler/mouse in my hands, but its far from truth. What games I find masterpieces? Morrowind, Fallout 1&2 (new vegas too), Call of Duty (first one), Neverhood, Freelancer, Warcraft series, Metro 2033, FEZ, FTL, Hotline Miami, Mafia 1, Half-Life 2, ... i think i forgot some, so if you would like to add/propose a game for me to add here, just write me :D (We all have a hobby, so dont be an ass and say that my hobby is for kids. Just look on youtube and you will realise the most watched videos with trilion of views are not music, but with games and there is a huge economy behind it.)

English - i didnt want to learn it, I even began learning German at first, but then I watched all these cartoons on Cartoon Network in english and i quickly learned english this way. It continued throughout the years in day to day english using, learning more and more, until now I am at a point when I just switch to speaking english and understand everything. Heck, even as I write this I can feel that my mind is changing because i think in english and not in slovak. Good (or bad :D ) indication of this is when I know how to say a word in english but I dont know it in Slovak xD .

Traveling - visited some countries, whether on vacation or as a youth exchange. I lived and worked in Germany for a short while and this also enhanced my desire to travel more around the world.

Volunteering - I try to help whenever I can, although I am not in any particular organization. It helps building confidence, leadership and rational thinking, skills that help anybody in their life. I was a volunteer english teacher in Vietnam for 9 months. This experience was life-changing and opened my eyes even more.

Marketing/Advertising/Copywriting - I find good sensation if someone gets a joke or a sentence. This is good for advertisement for some target groups, although mostly its just outbound marketing and spamming people. I dont like that. I like to say things which are true and not rip people off with my sentences. I do like to hype but only for a good cause or to make something more funnier than it actually was, but I dont lie about the story or concept. Sometimes I review things that I have to my friends in person and then later BOOM they buy them. And thats awesome because you made somebody buy something which is actually good for them and is not something useless they will throw away 5 days later. Maybe should do a blog and sell stuff or something...

Youtube - yeah I make videos sometimes here and there. You can check the channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/martindibdiak

Photographing - yes I photograph sometime, although I did more in the past. I did some pretty cool photomanipulations or just pure photos with no other touches. You can see some here http://dibdo.deviantart.com/gallery/
Now I mostly photograph for pocket money, which covered all my gear after 3 years. If you photograph too we can talk about it :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

If I have to pick just ONE then it would be this one:
Saved an old lady which was unnoticably bleeding from her head on a local bus transport.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can speak fluent english, which means I am an ass sometimes regarding pronunciation (I had to google that word to make sure I write it correctly :D ) and I teach other people how to speak correctly. I also have a strong slavic accent and I like it.

I can share a helping hand, cooking help and a fun-friendly company.
I am willing to learn history, culture and traditions of countries. I will be glad to hear your stories from traveling, especially if they are fun, bring a new way of thinking on life or made you think diferently.

If you have a shisha I can teach you how to do O-rings with your mouth. I consider myself a professional shisha smoker.
