About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to be as hospitable and friendly as the Taiwanese are to me!

ABOUT ME

British-born, previously worked in Korea, now here in Taiwan. I used to work in finance, but escaped from all that and I feel much better for it. I've got a degree in International Politics and a Masters in Business, though I'm now a teacher and enjoy this job very much

PHILOSOPHY

Make the most of your life, try not to have regrets

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can host if I'm at home and not too busy. Also looking for places to stay, especially if I'm doing something in Taipei (such as a 10k or half marathon)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

spent way too much of my younger years on other people's couches! But more to the point, I'm relatively new to 'official' CouchSurfing - I heard about it some time ago but only now do I have the opportunity to actually do it (as well as an apartment big enough to host others)

Interests

Running, hiking, cycling, reading, good food, exploring and doing 'touristy' stuff around Taiwan. Also interested in other stuff like economics, philosophy, literature and things like that, so I can happily sit up and discuss what's going on in the world with someone who wants to share their views

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - lots of things, been watching lots of documentaries lately. Have a wide taste in music and books though I tend to read popular economics and psychology and stuff like that rather than novels, though I still love having the time to sit through a good story

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did the Bloukrans Bridge bungy jump in South Africa, the highest one in the world

Teach, Learn, Share

Obviously with being an English Teacher, if I meet someone who wants to practice their English I will be more than happy to help.

Countries I’ve Visited

India, South Africa

Countries I’ve Lived In

South Korea, Taiwan
