About Me

Welsh guy living in London, worked as a data analyst but now sacking it all off and going to put my professional life on hold for 2 years to live a little!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm doing the rite of passage that my siblings have gone through of the Australian Working Holiday Visa Program. I'm the youngest so want to make sure that I have the best experience out there so I can make them all jealous :)

So far the people I've met on couch surfing have enriched my travels so much that it's now a requirement to experience it at least once in Australia. I want to meet people, I want to know what they do on a daily basis and how Australia works for them.

Living in London, I'm not keen on showing people the standard sites of Big Ben, Buckingham Palace etc as the main attractions because to me their so far removed from daily life of a Londoner that it's an untrue experience. I'm more interested in your life (but don't worry I'm happy to give you your space, I'm quite independent!)

Interests

I enjoy keeping fit, reading, absolutely love listening to music and finding new songs or having people show me their tracks (I don't judge and feel you can get to know them better!)

Having open and honest discussions with people really keep me interested, again I like exploring not just the world but also peoples experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

Any music, I love it and love hearing other people's tastes. At the moment house music by defected is played a lot but I can range to some death metal (children of Bodom), game soundtracks (Mirrors edge soundtrack written by Solar Fields is perfect for a city stroll), hip-hop (J. Cole is king) and even catchy pop tunes (Saturdays - All fired up does the trick).

Book wise; The Forgotten Realms series, Thinking Fast and Slow and many others. Sadly I find my concentration dipping quite a lot now so not many books get read over 10-20 minute read articles but I'm always up for exploring something you may have read that was life changing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walked into the wing mirror of a moving bus.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm currently self-learning android app development. I'm at the early stages and plan to continue it at least 1 hour a day while travelling around Australia. If anyone could help me with this then that would be very welcome, or I could teach the basics of what I've learned if you're interested.

To be honest I love learning new skills and love seeing a master at work, so if you wouldn't mind an observer or a student then please feel free to school me!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm mostly vegan and would love to show you what I've learned to create (I understand the complications that can arise out of this and will not demand my needs are met - but I will try and maintain a purely plant-based meal if possible)
