Crazy, fun and adventurous. I've described myself with these three keywords the last ten years and they still describe the core of myself. I grew up on the Åland Islands, located between Sweden and Finland. It's quite special being raised on a small, isolated island where ferries are the way of transportation to get off the island. Therefore, traveling has always been a part of my life, as far as I can remember.

Besides being on an isolated island, I also had a difficult upbringing, where photography was a game changer in order to survive. Since I started expressing my emotions through photography I've become a more open, sociable and fun-loving person. I'm also very interested in psychology, since my approach with photography is to deal with trauma, anxiety and memories. I'm a strong believer that we should be able to talk and express our emotions!

My friends would probably describe me as very caring, helpful, open-minded, a good listener and very fun to be around. I have a very wide network of dear friends around the world, many whom I've met on various of social media platforms, couchsurfing and hotels.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love connecting with new people, sharing experiences and perhaps make a difference to each other's lives. I would almost say that it's become an addiction, reaching out to new people around the globe and having a shared experience.

Interests

One of my greatest passions in life is creative problem-solving. Photography being one of the main mediums for this, dealing with my mental state of mind, but I'm also very handy when it comes to day-to-day stuff. If something is broken I'm instantly there poking around and to see if I'd be able to fix it. It could a leaking tap, car broken down, a computer not working and so on.

Music, Movies, and Books

These days I'm very much into indie-alternative music, doesn't listen to "mainstream" music, and it's a wide range of artists. If I'd pick a few, then it would be; Warpaint, Susanne Sundfør, Arcade Fire, Helios and Sufjan Stevens.

If we're talking movies or series, then it's definitely sci-fi / alternative and drama, that being; Harry Potter, Girl Interrupted, Hidden Figures, Billions, Game of Thrones, Happy valley and Homeland.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The decision to break free, move to Sweden and study photography. That has to be one of the greatest and best decision I've made so far in my life. It literally changed the course of my life and without photography, I doubt that I would be alive today.
