About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to complete my studies and travel the blue planet

ABOUT ME

Currently I am a student of the University of Vienna, studying political science. When I am not at the library to write my final thesis, I am probably spending my time by living a hedonist lifestyle, hanging around in Viennese coffee shops and cycling through the city on the search for some extraordinaire experiences in the urban lifestyle jungle.
I was born and raised in a small town in the most southern part of Austria, some call the "hillbilly state", some call it Carinthia. After finishing my high school I got attracted by the vibrant vibes of Vienna, so I moved there to do my civilian service as a paramedic and in addition I started with my studies. Last year I moved to Copenhagen (Denmark) for 6 months to do my Erasmus exchange.
The opportunity to gather some travel experience is a important value in my life. In my opinion students should travel a lot, to get rid of narrow minded perceptions of the world. Therefor I am using my time as a student to travel as much as I can.

PHILOSOPHY

YOLO, no I am just kitting ;-) As my favorite Austrian author Thomas Bernhard it once mentioned: "Das alles führt zu nichts" (that all will led to nothing") Therefor I think you should not take life too serious and retain your sense of humor or especially dark humor.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Actually I have to admit, that I have never had a person from the "official" couchsurfing website as a guest. Nontheless I always hosted friends of mine and friends of friends in my guest room. But I would like to get started with the couchsurfing plattform and host my couch for travelers, escapist and funny guys who want to see the Viennese lifestyle and are interested to get some insights of Viennese culture from an different angle.
Due to my travel experience, I have used the couchsurfing website in China. I dare, I would have never eaten the best Dim Sum of my life, without my lovely couchsurfing host there. Beyond my china experience, where I effectively used the couchsurfing website to meet locals, I was traveling all over Europe, to meet my friends from my Erasmus exchange semester in Copenhagen.

Interests

I have many interests, that´s why I have never found my specific passion. I am still searching for my hidden talent ;-) I would call it the "generalist dilemma". Nevertheless my overall passions are politics and media. At the moment I am dealing with some questions of internet policy and digital society. In addition to that I am interested in international politics and intercultural communication.
Music is one of my favorite interests if it comes to pleasure. But it´s not just music which stimulates my mind. The whole spectrum of pop culture, such as movies and video games, are attracting my attention. Especially the latter one ;-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Quite simple, it´s definitely traveling ;-) And also with regard to my Erasmus semester in Copenhagen I can say that this was an unforgettable experience for me that I wouldn't want to miss for the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

As I love to cook, I am always happy to learn some new cooking skills and techniques which are culturally different in respect of Austrian cuisine. In addition I am also looking for some talks about foreign cultures and get some insights, which are provided by my guests. Also to learn and practice some foreign language would be fun.
