ABOUT ME

For a couple years I have envisioned a bit of a modern American walkabout for myself. To set out on the open road of this country, up/down/left/right, and everywhere in between, all just me on my motorcycle The idea kinda came out of no where, and the urge to do so has just been getting stronger and stronger since then. Recently, I stepped away from my job, and just felt it was time to do this and stop making excuses for why it isn't the right time. I have figured out a basic path that will take me a couple months, and span more than 1/3rd of the way around the world in distance. So I am finally breaking free from the grind, packing up my stuff, and making a go of it!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This adventure includes me passing through 26 states, and seeing friends/family all over the country - From Washington to Chicago, New York to San Fransisco and then some. A lot of the way, I will be with said friends and family, but there are a few holes in between, and I would much more enjoy meeting someone new and seeing a part of these places I am traveling through instead of just the inside of a motel 6 bedroom.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have always been a big believer of couch surfing amongst my friends; both in letting my friends crash, and when it comes to snagging a couple of their living room cushions too. This is the first time I will be trying something outside of friends circle, but I am curious to see what kind of cool people there are out there with a similarly open mind.

Interests

I am a huge geek to start - so Magic cards, video games, a good amount of Sci-Fi and Fantasy in general. I snowboard in the winter, and am an avid runner in the summer. I love speed, both on my bike and my car which I am always tinkering with. Lastly, I am very passionate about my work (as a bartender) and love to not only create and perfect unique craft cocktails, but also to explore the history of America and its history with alcohol.

Music, Movies, and Books

If it is from 1980 on, I have seen it (movie wise). I have everything in my iTunes, from classical to hip-hop to goth industrial - just one exception, country.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Does getting on a motorcycle and leaving your life behind for months help? I guess this trip is my attempt to see and do something amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would share with people the adventure that I am embarking on - the travel of my life. There are a lot of days I have planned for friends, but for a few people who are willing to be included in my travels, I would love to see what they think of this wild ride I am on over a beer - first rounds on me. ;)
