About Me

CURRENT MISSION

...

ABOUT ME

Hmm, where to start?
I need to think longer what to write here.
Meanwhile you can read what a wrote in the other fields here.

I co-founded a Democratic school in Berlin, Germany and I'm an activist of Democratic Education and of Direct Democracy (initiative and referendum).
I want to make the world a better, fairer place :-)
I'm interested in politics, but also in astronomy and geography.
I like hanging around with people, talking and sharing views and experiences.
I like watching documentary films and have done some filming myself.

I'm a curious, peaceful guy.
I can be funny but also serious (depending on the situation).
I've lots of ideas. I always want to do more things than I actually can do.

PHILOSOPHY

fairness, personal freedom and solidarity

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In 2007 I spent a month travelling in Israel and was kindly hosted there by friends. In 2010 I've been there again. I was always somewhat anxious whether I would find a place where I could stay the next day (or the next few days). I was always very grateful to find a place, even if it was a very modest one.

I'd like to help people who are in a similar situation.
I don't want to spend a lot of money for hostels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In 2012 I was couchsurfing in Puerto Rico.
I have done some travelling before where I slept on other people's couches (see above).

Music, Movies, and Books

I like comedies and documentary films.

I like mediterranian style music (oriental israeli and spanish), ska, irish folk, música latina, rock, ballads, metal.

I mostly like non-fiction books from which I can learn a few new things or get some new ideas.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I remember being with friends in Jerusalem and going to a trip to the Dead Sea. This would not have been possible without the help of a friend's sister who hosted us.

When I'm a visitor in Democratic Schools around the world I'm always impressed how creative kids are and what great ideas they have.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you some German if you like to.

I could tell you about schools where children can decide for themselves how they spend their day.

Or any of the other fields where I'm involved.

I know quite a bit about astronomy.
