About Me

I'll try to expand on "laid back person who loves traveling" because that describes 99% of the people here, haha. I'm a Canadian American, I recently graduated with a degree in History. I'm hoping to teach high school or college, we will see what happens.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to really experience the places I visit if that makes sense. As much fun as it can be to show up, snap some pictures of the big monuments, and move on, I really want to get a feel for what it's like to live there. I would also like to help other people experience this, so I'd be happy to host others whenever I can.

Interests

Aside from traveling, I enjoy listening to and playing music, reading books, learning new things (especially about history), going for walks, and lifting weights (even though I don't look like it yet :P).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Rush, Led Zeppelin, and Queen are my favorites off the top of my head, but I'm open to just about anything.

Movies: Favorites include Birdman, Gladiator, Blade Runner, and Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Books: I'm a huge fan of J.R.R. Tolkien, Stephen King, and Bernard Cornwell among others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Went on a camping trip in 2013 through Minnesota and SW Ontario with some friends. The north shore is beautiful!

-In summer 2016 I went on a backpacking trip in Germany, the Netherlands, and Denmark. It was my first time outside North America and my first time using Couchsurfing. It was a great experience and I hope to do it again soon!

Teach, Learn, Share

As a young adult, I feel like I have a lot to learn before I can teach, which is part of why I'm on this site.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I guess I'm not totally sure. I haven't had many experiences yet. If you show me a good place to eat I'll gladly take you out for lunch!
