Hi, I'm Marta and I'm passionate about music. I love going to concerts, so when music festivals' season comes around, you will probably find me there. Haven't been to a music festival outside my own country yet, but I'll definitely do it someday. I also love to travel. I've been lucky enough to have travelled inside and outside of my country, but the world is big and there's still so much to see and learn!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm planning on travelling more in the near future, and what better way to get to know a city than staying with a local and making a new friend? Maybe we can travel together one day!

I'm currently not able to host you, fellow couchsurfers, because of where I'm living at the moment, but once the situation changes, and if my experience so far is a positive one (I'm sure it will be), I'll definitely open my house for you.

Interests

I love design and illustration so I'm always on the look out for inspiration, either online or offline. I want to explore illustration myself, but I'm still starting out. So if you like to draw, we can even go out and draw together in your city.

I really enjoy cooking, and trying out new recipes. Sometimes they can go wrong, but most of the times I'm really proud of what I come up with.

Whenever I'm not working on a project or trying new things, I'm probably watching tv series or procrastinating on the internet really.

I also enjoy taking some photos with my phone in my free time (since I haven't got a proper camera).

I used to read a lot, and I really love it, but haven't been doing it much lately. Need to get back to it asap!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy most music that is out there. A few of my (long list of) favourite bands are Portugal. The Man, Arctic Monkeys and The War On Drugs.

I prefer watching tv shows mostly, but I watch a few movies every year as well. Most of the movies I watch usually play at independent movie festivals here in Portugal, which I attend very often.

Besides the Harry Potter books (of course), I really enjoyed the first three books of Lois Lowry's quartet The Giver. Philip Pullman's triology His Dark Materials and Suzanne Collins' triology The Hunger Games are also some of my favourites.

Teach, Learn, Share

I will love to learn more about you and your city if I stay at your place!

I enjoy getting to know new places, and learning new languages as well. I'm trying to learn Japanese with a mobile app, for example, but obviously it's best and more fun when you're learning with someone else.

I can cook and teach you some Portuguese dishes, so you can impress your mum and friends. We have a lot of great food!
