ABOUT ME

*** I am currently unable to host anyone because I'm now sharing my home with a beautiful baby girl for the next 18 to 21 years. Hopefully not much longer :). I hope you can find another host and have an awesome journey ****

I am an easygoing guy who mostly likes to analyse situations before jumping in head-first, but after a couple of beers and possibly some wine this is prone to change.

I love rock climbing. I have been climbing for around 5 years now. Whenever I go travelling the first thing I look up is where the climbing locations are. Not to say that I pick my travel destinations by the abundance of climbing spots.

I have travelled around and been interacting in international communities quite a lot - be it because of science or adventure, often both. It has broadened my view of life and has made me aware of the diversity of the people inhabiting this planet. Quite amazing I would say, in a good sense I mean. But in spite of all the differences one thing I have found remains pretty much the same no matter where you come from - that is humour. Humour is universal.

PHILOSOPHY

I host and I surf whenever possible. Lately a bit less, but it comes in waves.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted and also surfed couches in many cities in many countries. Each one of them was an experience I do not regret and all the people I met were unique and interesting in their own right.

Interests

Music, movies, snowboarding, backpacking, hiking and rock climbing. I also enjoy clever mathematics, algorithms, puzzles, crosswords and almost everything that tickles my brain. Every now and then I also pick up my ukulele from the corner and play a couple of sweet tunes.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, ELP, Genesis (Before Peter Gabriel left), to name a few. Also other rock and prog rock groups. I also really enjoy blues and certain types of jazz. Everything really where you can see that the performer has really mastered their instrument of choice.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I really liked our rock climbing trip to Philippines together with my lovely wife. This was a world beyond what I could imagine. Even though for various reasons we couldn't do as much rock climbing as we would have wanted to it was nevertheless a spectacular journey through and amazing country.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can open a beer bottle with almost any solid object. I would like to learn how to cook different kinds of food from all over the world
