About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore the South and also show people Birmingham for the next 12 months as much as I can.

ABOUT ME

I'm always bad at filling out these "all about you" things, because I always wonder what "all about me" actually means...
I grew up in Minnesota, although I don't have the Minnesotan accent as like most of my friends and family do. However, it does come out every once in a while, especially when I'm excited about something! In 2006 I moved to Columbia, Missouri for college, so that's where I spent most of my months until May 2010, when I graduated.

Most recently, I moved to Birmingham two months ago from New York City (lived in Brooklyn and worked in Manhattan's financial district). Right now I'm a business journalist for the city's newspaper.

PHILOSOPHY

Wow...personal philosophy? Let me sit and think about that for a few days...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love meeting new people. I'm delighted to take anyone visiting Birmingham out for coffee, a meal, a drink, or around to show some of the fun things the city has to offer. I also love going to concerts, so I'd be happy to accompany surfers to those too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Nuit Blanche 2008 with several CSers in Brussels.
Stayed with a couch surfer in Seoul, South Korea.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing a waterfall in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, in January was one of the most incredible experiences.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to cook, but especially with others because quite awful so far. Hopefully someone can teach me someday.

I also enjoy learning other languages (even if I'm not too skilled in any) as well as anything about people's home countries and cultures.

If people are artists, writers, musicians it would be great to see, read, or hear some of your work. I am a musician as well so if you have a guitar (mine's back in the U.S.), maybe we can show each other some songs.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Canada, France, Jamaica, Mexico, Netherlands, South Korea, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
