ABOUT ME

Hey there! My name is Marty, I am a New England native, jazz musician, and all around people person who loves new experiences. I have been working as a house band musician on cruise ship contracts for the last few years, and have just returned to couch surfing after a slight hiatus! I really like hangin' out with people and just getting to know new places, cultures and food!! I'm an easy goin' guy, and would be happy to meet you!

PHILOSOPHY

I try to treat everyone with respect, and remember that everyone has a story. I try not to judge anyone, and I stick to my values no matter what. However I am also open-minded, and work to understand where others are coming from. Pretty much I just try to be a good person!

Well I figure I help this community by trying to be friendly and helpful to everyone I meet, and to try and spread some positive vibes to new places!

Traveled to Hamburg and Switzerland with couchsurfing, and had some seriously amazing times!

Interessi

Listening and playing all types of Music, hangin' out with friends, going out to party and staying in to chill out. Finding new good food is a serious mission in my life.

Musica, film e libri

Well I love jazz, a lot of things from the 50's and 60's, including Hank Mobley, Dexter Gordon, Miles, Sonny Stitt, Gene Ammons, Art Blakey, Sonny Rollins, etc. I love to listen to more modern guys like Donny McCaslin, Chris Potter, Robert Glasper, Maria Schneider, etc. I'm getting way into Funk, with groups like Parliament Funkadelic, Sly Stone, Lettuce, James Brown, Kool and the Gang.

As far as movies, I'm really into The Godfather series, I love movies that make you think about society or the way we treat and look at each other. Love good comedies too. I've actually been getting into TV Series recently, like Dexter, The Sopranos, and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Played in a tight Funk band to a roaring crowd. You don't know energy until you're on stage layin it down with your friends to a crowd going nuts!
