ABOUT ME

Marvin:
Marvin recently graduated from Boston University with an Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has a deep love of traveling and adventures. In the past he has volunteered in Kingston, Jamaica, St. Marc, Haiti, inner-city Baltimore and in camps for children with Muscular Dystrophy. He is open to new ideas, loves biking around the countryside and in the cities, exploring abandoned buildings, cooking and sharing new recipes, making lifelong friends, bonding over a good beer or smoke, sharing stories, singing, reading, photography with my Nikon D40 that has taken well over 25000 photos, and learning about others willing to wonder and wander.

Marvin has studied abroad in Dresden, Germany where he also travelled around Saxony with the Dresden Rugby team where he was the hooker/wing, to Monaco, Paris and Nice in France, Menton at the border of Italy, Budapest in Hungary, Prague in the Czech Republic, Krakow and Wrocław in Poland, and Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

He is currently travelling around Europe after having worked in the Luweero District in Uganda as a Peace Corps volunteer for a Primary Teachers' College.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

You're talking about two people who've already seen and experienced a lot despite our age.

Marvin: Volunteered in Jamaica, Haiti, Inner City Baltimore, Muscular Dystrophy Camp, Tutors, Been mugged in Nice, France, Brought peace to a streetfight in Budapest, Hungary, Played on the Dresden Rugby Team, Biked 70km through Bavaria, Got a Passport Stolen in Poland, Spent an unforgettable and forgettable weekend in Amsterdam, Studying Abroad in Dresden, Germany for 6 life-changing and unforgettable months, and having a 3 month summer internship in Berlin, Germany. Currently a Peace Corps Volunteer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Marvin has hosted many people through CouchSurfing in his Boston apartment with his awesome roommate Emily with whom he shares this CouchSurfing profile with. We've hosted writers, travelling Bulgarian farmers, couples, concert-goers, fellow CouchSurfers, and so many other people in between. Marvin has also gone to several CouchSurfing events during his time studying abroad in Dresden and his internship in Berlin.

He has also been able to experience the expat Couchsurfing scene in Kampala, Uganda during his time as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Uganda.

I climbed up the Nyiragongo Volcano in the DRC and saw the fires burning auburn on the mountainside.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I would love to teach some Filipino recipes and share some of my adventuring stories: I've slept in a Brewery in Bamberg, interned for a renewable energy company in Berlin, ended up at an underground rave, hiked through countless miles, and have done many long bike trips through the American Northeast and the rolling plains of Deutschland.

I would also be able to share some stories and photos of adventures that I had while living in East Africa.
