Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It was because of Benny Alibhasa. We found ourselves in the concrete jungle of jakarta during one of their biggest national holidays. I don't plan much whenever I backpack but Benny was well prepared with a laminated currency conversion table an a map of Jakarta to boot. I only have my LP and that's it. Unknown to me till then, he already arranged a couch for us to stay with Abhu which he got from this odd site called Couchsurfing. I never thought of staying in other people's place when traveling as I'm happy with hostels and dorms meeting interesting travelers along the way. But couchsurfing is a little different as you get to stay in a local's place and the experience is never the same. Back to Jakarta, Abhu's place is spacious and comfortable and he brought us to CS events in Jakarta which was really fun. Then onward to Yogyakarta and before we knew it, we already have a gracious host in this lovely quaint city, Ivy.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

From time to time, I find myself joining CS events in Manila. It's always fun and never the same. I joined couchsurfing events in New York as well!
