About Me
Hi there!
I'm a medical anthropologist from the United States, currently pursuing my MD-PhD in Anthropology... I love adventure travel, cross-cultural exchange, learning, cooking, and gardening. I've spent the past three years (2012-2016) living in Lesotho (southern Africa); it's my second home. I simply love the region and people. And consequently, I speak Sesotho, a southern Bantu language (not listed below!) Ha!
I spent my childhood moving around the world because of my father's career... And consequently, world travel is in my blood. My closest friends have often been met 'on the road'... And I'm sure there are many more adventures still to come!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Unfortunately, I'm in the process of moving to New Jersey for school this summer, so I can't offer up my own home at this time... But I'm hoping to meet some people in the Couchsurfing community in my own travels this summer!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A few years ago I completed one of my lifelong dreams to meet the Naro San people in northwestern Botswana! My friend and I hitchhiked across Botswana, got stuck in a remote village, wound up sleeping on the floor of an abandoned mission in the middle of the Kalahari Dessert, met some INCREDIBLE modern-day Naro women... It was simply amazing. :)
