I enjoy traveling to places I have not visited in the past and enjoying living in more local environments to learn more about local cultures, history, music and the natural environment. Love learning about new places to hike, explore, experience from a local perspective.

I do not wish to spend alot in the corporate hotel sector and enjoy living very simply, meeting people in their own homes and getting local tips on what I should see and do in their community/city/region...much better than most tourist websites or organized tours!

My academic work centers around issues of democracy and decolonization, particularly the role that arts and cultural praxis can play in culturally sustaining and transformative education. Also, I have 5 'now adult' children...so lots of great parenting experiences....& now I also get to learn more from them, as they share their travelling stories with me!!
