Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To inspire and be inspired while traveling the world.
ABOUT ME
I'm a bit of a dreamer, laugh a lot, and love to learn. Grew up in Gainesville, Florida and since lived in too many cities to list. My passion is learning about life by living it-- with any and everything; people, culture, places and ideas. I'm open minded with an open heart and down to earth. I worked seasonally at the Florida Renaissance Festival
PHILOSOPHY
Be present.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm going to be doing some serious couchsurfing in the coming months with people I know, and I hope to recruit more couchsurfing participants because I really believe in the idea it promotes. So happy to have found this site! When I'm finished traveling, I'd love to host some couchsurfing strangers :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The extent of my couchsurfing experience has been limited to friends, friends of friends and family -- I only recently discovered this site. You better believe I plan on putting it to good use.
Interests
I love music, all of it -- especially live music. If it's a guy on a street corner playing the harmonica or a large concert production, I'm entranced. I sing karaoke and luckily my friends say I'm not bad (I have great friends :)) Other interests (but not limited to); beaches, books, BBQs, meeting new people, writing, stand-up comedy, yoga, alternate forms of living, video games, daydreaming, volunteering, revolutionary ideas, camping, friends, family, strangers, history, sustainability, instruments, peace, pottery, biking, site-seeing, science, philosophy, religion, puzzles, sunsets, sunrises, horticulture, animals, hugs, sharing wisdom, nature -- just to name a few.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It was a week before Christmas. I was walking down a busy highway with a friend of mine, when I happened to look behind me and across the 4 lanes of traffic to see a small, pink-hooded object bobbing down the sidewalk in the opposite direction. I was halfway across the street when I realized that object was actually a little girl. I caught up to her and saw she couldn't have been more than four years old. I called after her and she kind of ignored me at first but then slowed down and replied, "I'm going to the North Pole". I had to laugh. It took some convincing to have her let us walk her home to ask Mom first. I had to lie and say I knew a shortcut to Santa's. We walked nearly a mile and she warmed to me when she got tired and asked me to carry her. When we finally got on her street I could see which house was hers because there were about 8 neighbors in the yard surrounding a man holding a grief-stricken woman. I felt like I couldn't get to them fast enough so I called out to them. Her mother looked up and probably broke a few world records getting up and running to us, hugging both me and her daughter in my arms. "Thank you, you are angels" she said to us. I was truly awestruck. This story reminds me of what I'm capable of. :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I think this is the best school I could have enrolled in. I would love to learn new languages (I plan on traveling abroad after the U.S.), meditation techniques, yoga, more about sustainability and organic farming, but I'm really up for anything. I love learning new skills.
