I'm a freelance photographer based in Vancouver BC. I went to the Victoria College of Art to study fine arts. I enjoy to sing, play guitar and jam with other creative folk. In the summer I go on tour doing photography for festivals, bands, fire performers, and circus act. Meeting new people is one of my favorite things and I hope to meet you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I grew up hosting couch surfers with my family. Some of my favorite memories of my childhood are when we hosted people. On numerous occasions my dad and I would take surfers on backpacking trips in the beautiful forests of British Columbia. I hope to carry on the tradition of hosting as well as experience the other side of the spectrum when I travel. I love meeting new people, getting to know new cultures and gaining new perspectives on life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a big fan of folk, gypsy, jazz, rock, old time, ragtime, swing, blues, soul and funk music. Some of my favourites include Shovels & Rope, Jolie Holland, The Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra, OQO, Red Haven, The Devil Makes Three, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Bob Dylan, Five Alarm Funk, The Party on High Street, The Burying Ground, Scott Dunbar One Man Band, High Society, Corin Raymond, Father John Misty, Tom Waits, Staggers & Jaggs, Devil in the Woodshack and The Be Good Tanya's. The list goes on... and on... and on... I love to sing and play guitar and hope to find creative people to jam with! I am currently learning how to play the accordion as well. I believe it is the responsibility of all artists to comment on the state of the world. I appreciate when musicians are able to reflect current issues in their work while making it attractive to the masses.

Some of my favorite movies include The Big Lebowski, Pulp Fiction, V for Vendetta, Coffee and Cigarettes, Mad Max, Cloud Atlas, Anima, Occupy Love and Waking Life and everything by Wes Anderson. I also love Doctor Who, Firefly, The Twilight Zone and Mr. Bean.
