Overview
About Me
Although I wish it were true, my name is not actually Mary Muffins. My real name is Mary Margaret and I'm a student at the University of Georgia in Athens, home of the B-52s and REM. I love it here, so come visit and see for yourselves! I am a Human Development and Family Sciences Major, which means I study about, well, the development of humans within family systems. I'm a very easy-going, outgoing, fun but respectful guest. I have been abroad a few times and stayed in hostels, but I am a virgin to couchsurfing!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Why couchsurf? I can meet new, local people and gain a unique perspective on the area I'm visiting. I love meeting new people & hearing their stories. This seems like a great community, and I would like to get involved. Eventually, I would love to host others.
Interests
Listening to music, collecting music, creating music, watching other people play music! I enjoy the outdoors and playing team sports. Meeting people and conversations. I have a huge fondness for history. I love traveling! I've been to 32/50 states, and several places in Europe, but I have many places I'd like to go. And I'm also very interested in tacos.. and most other delicious foods!!! I also enjoy nightlife and trying new beverages.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite movie is Waiting for Guffman, and any other Christopher Guest movies.
Favorite music is too broad of a category because I like so many artists, but I do love classic rock (Saw the Stones this summer- it was awesome). I also have a favorite band from my stomping grounds, Athens, Georgia, called Of Montreal. Some other favorites are The Beatles, Wilco, Carol King, My Morning Jacket, Bob Dylan, Kurt Vile, Otis Redding, Angel Olsen, The Velvet Underground, James Brown, Weezer, Flight of the Conchords... you name it! I love making playlists.
My all time favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I worked at an overnight camp for children with special needs! Each week we were assigned a camper, and it was an incredible one-on-one experience. It was the most difficult yet truly the most rewarding thing I've ever had the honor of doing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share a fun time, great memories, a kind heart, lots of laughs, possibly a few beers, and some great company/conversation! And maybe some delicious treats!
