Hey! I am an American student living in Paris. I moved around a lot as a kid and it gave me the travel bug. I come from a very Dutch family, and got to live in the Netherlands as a child, which I absolutely loved. I now study comparative literature and history at the American University of Paris. I love to travel, read, meet interesting people, and learn languages.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to take advantage of how convenient it is to travel in Europe; buses from Paris can be just a few euros! My friends and I like to take trips when we have school off because even though we're poor college students, this continent is full of things to see :)

Books: Too many to name! I love Charles Dickens (my favorite is Bleak House), anything written by Ruta Sepetys, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, Shakespeare (of course), and many many more

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This summer I did a road trip across the United States with my french friend who doesn't speak English and has never been to America before. It was a lot of translating and a lot of fun!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I grew up all around the US and have been exposed to a lot of different kinds of American culture - each region has one that is completely their own. I can help anyone who is studying English or French, in fact I teach English for a living. Also, I love hearing travel stories.
