Overview
About Me
As the child of a librarian and a teacher, I grew up on literature and have a love for books that runs as deeply as the love for my family or nature. After an exchange year in Belgium, I returned to the US to study French and German languages and literatures and earned my Bachelor's degree in 2015. Reading was my first look at the world I live in, and now I'm doing my best to see it! I have a particular fondness for fiction and for nature writing.
I have just moved back to Rochester, NY after teaching English in Güstrow, Germany for two years. I don't have a space to host for the time being, but I would be happy to meet up with visitors to Rochester.
The email in my contacts is a little out of date, so if I don't answer a Couchsurfing message, you can write me at mlawren0@mail.naz.edu
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I came to Couchsurfing after a couple years of hearing it vaguely, but positively, talked about. When I moved to Berlin for a few months in 2012, I thought it would be a good way to meet people there (it was!) I have been hosted twice- once in Munich and once in Erfurt, and loved getting to know places from the experiences of people who knew them best. I look forward to being able to return the favor and host surfers at some point.
Interests
I am a vegetarian, and love experimenting with cooking...and eating! I am also very active and love to hike and swim, and practice on the aerial silks.
