About Me

(finally recovered my account!)

Hi!
I'm Maryam, a 24 year old Junior Doctor currently living between Bulgaria and London. I grew up in the Netherlands, moved to UK with my family in 2012 and moved out for university to Bulgaria.

I love delving into new cultures while travelling. From meeting locals, to trying out new cuisines, to learning the history and making connections.

I love cooking and feeding people, I can cook something when I visit you!
I love talking about any topic whether it's something personal, unusual or controversial; I'm all ears. I'm a deep thinker so I love to talk about philosophical, self development, historical or psychological topic.
Or to keep it light we can have fun, crack some jokes and be silly.

I love having genuine experiences coupled with good food and good company.
While travelling I love meeting new people, I've stayed in hostels and met the most amazing people with the most interesting stories, I'd love to hear yours!

I spend my time doing sports (basketball, climbing, swimming), cooking, watching movies, meeting friends and learning about the human psychology - it's so intriguing!

As a host I can provide you with warm and welcoming company, a tour, a shared meal, and some interesting talks. I also grow veggies in my balcony so hopefully you can try that before the pigeons eat it all up!

Hope we meet :)
See you soon!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I listen to almost everything except metal. I like singing along to all kinds of songs whether its pop, country, indie, rock - Not that I'm amazing at it haha.

Movies: Go to movie genre would be Psychological thriller, not a lot scares me so I don't mind watching them, I am really interested in Psychology. I love comedy and alternative movies too. I love Wes Anderson movies.

Books: I used to be a bookworm but have less time to read now because of university. My favourite books are probably 'A thousand splendid suns' by Khaled Hosseini and 'When breath becomes air' by Paul Kalanthi.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I love helping others, I set up a charity and helped to provide food and funds to those in need in my city in Bulgaria. Although the charity is no longer active, I still like to volunteer and help.

I took a 10 day road trip across Bulgaria with my husband and slept in the car while exploring new places every day, I learnt so much about the history of Bulgaria and it really made me grateful for the experience and opportunity to live here.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like teaching and learning languages and new culinary dishes. I like sharing life lessons and stories and learning from people. I think everyone is interesting and I take a lot of interest in people in general.

What I Can Share with Hosts
