Hi everyone! My name is Maryam and I am an Italian-Iranian soul, with a bit of a nomad in me. I grew up in Italy and then I started roaming between places, a bit for love, a bit for work and a bit for adventure. I love to discover new places, people and sides of myself and have a passion for everything that is self-discovery and self-expression. I believe in curiosity, freedom, diversity and sharing.

I have worked most of my adult life in international cooperation, with social inclusion and education projects and policy. I am now trying to develop a path which really brings together the things that light me up and that I feel strongly for - which includes telling stories of the diversity of this amazing world and do my best to empower youth and women to live free and as their true self.

I am learning myself how to live a life which is not based on conforming, but on being intentional and free.

I am a person of many many hats, but you can easily find me on a beach, swimming, reading books, doing yoga, having a laugh, dancing around and writing.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

Meeting people of all places and walks of life has made me such a richer person. I traveled a lot but haven't really used couch-surfing until now and I would like to jump within this community now, as I have learnt how much giving and sharing can be fun and enriching, beyond really being what life is about.

All kind of movies and books :) I go from history, to philosophy, spirituality, novels etc. Though generally staying clear of anything which is violent for the sake of entertainment (and/or sexist).

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

- Sat a 10-day Vipassana meditation course
- lived from the inside out between Bali and Gili for 4 months
- traveled in Laos with my best friend
- made Myanmar my beautiful home for more than a year
- took a sabbatical
- (almost) learnt Danish
- traveled to Iran with my dad
- went on endless train rides (which I love)
-(almost) become a yoga teacher
