About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I do not have a mission. That seems so dramatic! I live in the country and enjoy the people that I live with, the cats, the neighbors. I love watching the birds fly over in the evening as they prepare for bed. I want to meet people and be part of a community and maybe even learn something about the world.
ABOUT ME
Single mom of two teenagers. Yeah, tell me about it. I am fun AND funny. Enjoy gardening, biking and coffee.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We have surfed in Canada, the US and in Puerto Rico and I was so happy to have the experiences. Seeing how others live reminds us that people in the world are not all that different.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We spent a wonderful time in Canada with a family. I loved the interactions our kids had together, and seeing how other families work/interact. Although I do enjoy hanging out with strangers and hearing everyone's stories, my kids (now teens) have less of an attention span. When we surf, we are in and out, but I make a point to spend time with the hosts, as that is my favorite part! I would love to surf with families with kids the same age as mine, so they have some company too.
Interests
I travel in packs - actually I travel with the two people I love the most - my kids. One weekend when they were small, I got sick of hanging out around the house, announced a camping trip that was going to start right then. We loaded the car and have spent summers exploring ever since. I have since upgraded to a VW Westfalia. I feel pretty safe being able to "lock the doors" at night. We have been all over Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico (our surrounding states)and have starting to drive a little more now that the kids are bigger. We have camped and hiked around Washington state, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, California, Oregon, Nevada, New Mexico, South Dakota and Arizona. (the western half of the country).
Once the kids are finally able to drive, I would love to drive from Colorado to Alaska with them.
The kids made it up Mount Saint Helen in Washington!

Music, Movies, and Books
What - time to read? Really? I have been cleaning the house and found the books that were packed during our construction. Finding them was like finding an old friend.
Music - I live about 35 minutes outside of a major city. When I get some free time at home, I sit out in my garden and listed to the birds fly by. We have eagles, herons, duck, pelicans, and a mess of others - we also have toads. I enjoy the sounds of nature so much more than the radio.
Favorite thing to read - back of seed packets
Movie - whatever I can sit and watch with friends of family, that is the best. (Jo Jo Rabbit)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Painted Desert in Arizona. Had one of those moments where you think you have walked into a painting. Fantastic.
Holding my daughter when she was still an infant and feeling her heart beat against my chest. A small glimpse of the wonders of the universe.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can listen. I can laugh. I'm a great hugger.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My house is in a constant state of construction it seems. BUT if you are traveling by car, rv, or van please reach out. I am on property on the east side of I-25, North of Denver and you are welcome to camp out and enjoy the view. A fast night or a few day is fine.
