About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am settling down for a bit after a few years of road trips and exploring. I am an outdoor educator at a 5/6th grade science camp. I get to take kids on hikes, teach them about science and nature, help them learn self-reliance and generally teach them to be badass! I'm
trying to switch my adventures to a more sustainable method that doesn't require moving every couple of years. So I'm saving money to explore the local sights!

ABOUT ME

Definitely an extrovert. I enjoy meeting new people and learning their stories. Nature makes me feel at home. I love life, bonfires, making memories and good conversation with interesting people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I feel like we have disregarded the importance of community in our modern, busy society. I hunger for connections with down to earth people who truly appreciate the simple, yet beautiful aspects of life.

Interests

I love to explore cities on my bike or walking. It's a great way to get a different perspective and a better taste of the energy in that city. I also enjoy hiking, photography, live music, coffee shops, making collages, feminism and cooking.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy most music, except country (I grew up in Tennessee and it's hard to escape it there). Some of my favorite artists are the Alabama Shakes, Matt and Kim, Elephant Revival, The Bots, Django Django, Shovels and Rope, Lake Street Dive and The Features.

Movies: The Skeleton Twins, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Sucker Punch, The Italian Job

Books: Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, The Last Flight of the Scarlet Macaw by Bruce Barcott, Whipping Girl by Julia Serano, The Giver by Lois Lowry, Ishmael by Daniel Quinn and Fried Green Tomatoes by Fannie Flag

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I played Peter Pan in the musical. It was exhilarating! I got to fly and everything!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am learning to play the drums and ukelele. I can teach you about local flora and fauna. I am in awe of redwood trees and will share all the cool facts I know about them! I also have a state parks pass that you can borrow.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I loooooove cooking for hosts. I can cook for any diet. I usually cook at least one big dinner when I stay with someone. :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Costa Rica, Ireland, Mexico, Spain
