You can meet new people who can open your mind to new things, to learn something new, have fun. Excitement, Thrill... That's couchsurfing to me.
When you get to know a new person that has the same view in something like CS but so diferent in all other aspects is awesome. To see how people from the place you are traveling live, and share experiencies and meals and talk and eaven show you arround! It's the best way to travel.
