I'm a 20 year old student, I grew up in Pretoria and am now studying Zoology and Geography at a university in Potchefstroom, an academic city in South Africa's North West province. I love meeting people with different cultures than mine, I absolutely love animals and I love learning new languages and traditions. I have a big passion for music, although I don't make music myself. I believe music speaks to the heart and soul. I make inappropriate jokes at almost all times, and I like being around people who don't mind that. I'm crazy and laugh a lot and I want to share my laughter with people because I believe you enrich your life not by money or material things, but by hanging out with people who have different interests, nationalities, languages and views than you do. In short, I'm just a young student with a zest for life, I want to do and see everything I possibly can and meet new and interesting people along the way with whom I can hopefully keep contact with and stay friends. When I'm having fun I would do almost anything on the spur of the moment and just blame it on the night ;) or day.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I love meeting locals so as to catch the true vibe of the city/country that I'm visiting. I don't care much for living the tourist life, but rather living like I am a local myself. I want to share and trade travelling and life experiences with people who are easy-going, comfortable and life-loving. When travelling I want to capture the heart of a city/country so I can treasure the true vibe forever.

If I can overturn this whole paragraph above, that is exactly what I want to offer somebody who would want to come and couchsurf with me. Unfortunately I can only offer couchsurfing when I visit home (Pretoria) on weekends or holidays where my parents still live, because I live in a ladies' residence on my university's campus. When I'm home in Pretoria I can host 2 people, but not for longer than one weekend or the duration of the holiday I'm enjoying.

I am crazy about all animals, very passionate, which is why I'm studying zoology. I also love doing sports for fun (and competition). I've been riding horses my whole life and I'm the type of girl who would also hang out with a bunch of guys, just chilling, watching football or rugby and drinking a beer. My favourite music genre is definitely rock, there's just something about rock lyrics and the sound of it that takes complete control of my soul and I could just lose myself in it. Of course I love travelling and expanding my horizons. The true happiness in life lies where you can just sit still, not say a word and just listen to the music around you or just watching the stars. The moment when time just seems to go nowhere. That's the moments I live for.

I love all rock but my favourites would be Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Guns N' Roses, Def Leppard, the Mexican band Mana, the South African band The Parlotones, some Metallica, some Nirvana and also softer acts like Bryan Adams. The rest would all be classic artists or songs such as Queen and ABBA and of course, all of the old, golden classic love songs. I'm a girl ;)

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I'm a South African and I wouldn't have it any other way. No other country in the world has as much cultural as well as natural diversity as we do. We have 11 official languages, a rainbow nation, we have beautiful beaches, mountains, mountain passes, semi-deserts and forests. We have lions, cheetahs, giraffe, leopards, hippos and almost any other animal you can think of. Experiencing all of this is pretty amazing if you ask me.

I can teach you or share many things about life in South Africa, about our landscapes, animals or people. Needless to say, I'm very passionate about my country. I'm open to learn anything new, in fact, I would really love learning anything about life in other places. These are things I don't know and hearing about it just enriches the way you see others.
