I'm bookish but kind of extroverted. Talking about books is basically my favorite thing, followed by talking about language.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I created a couchsurfing profile a few years ago while I was doing research in Rome just to meet people and while traveling, and I enjoyed the CS meet-ups there. I only recently actually "surfed" for the first time, and had a very positive experience.

I can't host currently because my dog won't let me (no, seriously).

Books. Enjoying a glass of wine with friends. Good conversation. Seeing new places, learning things. Language. How people see and talk about language. Writing on occasion. Playing guitar (but badly, very badly). Librivox.

I have relatively wide interest in books. I also like a variety of movies, but have a soft spot for bad action movies. Music...depends on my mood, but Italian cantautori top the list, especially Fabrizio De Andre' and Rino Gaetano.

Another tough question. I have nothing as cool as most CSers will have for this one. If I have to narrow it down to specific sights seen or travel-related experiences, maybe the California redwoods, the year I taught in Genoa, or the month I spent in Budapest learning with and getting to know an awesome group of people (taking a CELTA class).
