About Me

I'm from Brisbane, Australia, I'm a dual Australian/Canadian citizen, although I've never lived in Canada (my Dad's Canadian).

As soon as I turned 18 I was out the door and on a flight to Europe! I lived there for two years, I worked in Edinburgh and London and I travelled around. I also cycled around the UK for two months, right up until my bike got stolen in Canterbury.

I'm always keen for an adventure, and love exploring and trying new things. I've eaten chicken testicles while I was on a semester student exchange in Taiwan, and what I suspect was rat in Vietnam :P

I spent two months in the States last year and then have been in Mexico and Central America for the last six months, chicken bussing my way after Mexico through Guatemala,Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.

Gotten to do a bunch of new things here, rock climbing, scuba diving, cliff jumping which was cool since I've always been scared of heights, but i wanted to confront/get over that fear :)

After this 6 months I'm now planning on visiting a few places on the east coast of the States!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel, and I think meeting people from the city you are visiting just makes your experience of the city so much richer. Not only is it an awesome way to know some locals, you get to see a completely different side of the place you are visiting.

Once I end up finding a job somewhere, I can't wait to then get to host couchsurfers of my own! :)

Interests

I'm pretty obsessed with podcasts at the moment, they are just so handy, Freakonomics, Around the NFL, Serial, Millennial, Scriptnotes, This Week in Startups, NPR basically I will give anything a go!

I'd say a lot of my interests are the pretty standard ones, books, travel, food. Avocados get their own mention because they are the best. food. ever.

I am also quite a big NFL fan! Which is completely random I know, it was just on TV one day and kind o f got into it, and I am hoping to catch a game somewhere in the States.

Music, Movies, and Books

Like most people I love GOT! Every now and then I'll go through a Survivor phase haha, I still haven't seen Walking Dead or Breaking Bad, but I also liked Mad Men, Unbreakable KS, HIMYM, Top of the Lakes, Sherlock, Friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 18 I moved to Europe by myself and travelled and worked there for two and a half years.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make Pavlova which is a delicious Australian dessert :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

A positive and cheerful attitude! I love meeting people and chatting, and I have been lucky enough to have traveled a bit more than average, and the one big thing I have taken away is that some of my best and most memorable moments travelling have been shaped by the people I have been lucky enough to meet, and I would really like to continue that. I'd also love to cook you a nice dinner to thank you :) I have a few good recipes up my sleeve!
