About Me

Hello! My name is Maryana Teles, I’m from Rio de Janeiro, but I’ve lived in England over 5 years. I graduated in Advertising in Brazil and I lived in Thailand for 3 months where I took my certification as a Divemaster.

I have experience in events production and marketing and I also have experience as a bartender, waitress, nanny, chef (part of the salads and desserts) and I believe I can help your project in many ways, from manual work (handyman) to the publicity and social media jobs.

I love talking, traveling, laughing (OMG! I love a good laugh). I love reading books about self-knowledge, personal development, and empowerment. I love going to the beach and the summer, I love swimming and I love meditating (I try to meditate 10 minutes a day as soon as I wake up). I'm learning Yoga, so I practice 20 minutes a day. I am a happy person, light and easygoing. I love adventures and adrenaline. My friends say that I am connected to 220V because I have a lot of energy. I love dancing, jumping and have fun.

I currently work as a travel content creator in my blog (https://vidamochileira.com.br/). I believe that nothing is more inspiring than reading reports and stories from people who are doing what you would like to do, but you don't know where to start or if you are capable of something like that. Sometimes, all we need is a push, a word of support or a story that creates identification with our problems and motivates us to seek a solution.

I love inspiring people to leave their comfort zone to explore new places, meet new people and new cultures and learn a new language, through my writing and stories, but also with the possibility that they can do incredibles things if they want to.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love people. I love making new friends, learning and listening to stories. I love making these connections with the people I get to know while I am traveling and I believe that the Couchsurfing platform is the perfect place to make these connections.

The reason I travel is to see new places, but more than that, I travel to meet people. I want to connect with people to learn how I can be better for the world. I want to learn about the culture of the places through the eyes of local people.

I would like to learn about habits, routines, and differences. More and more I believe that differences bring us closer together and I want to have contact with these differences and I want to learn more about them and appreciate every moment of these new connections with people.

Interests

I love going to the beach and play frescobol, I like walking on the street especially when I am traveling, I love taking pictures, sometimes I like to go to parties, but I prefer enjoying the day instead the night, I am definitely a morning person.

I love watching series on Netflix like Friends, How I met Your Mother, Anne with an E, Brooklyn 99, The Good Place, Workin' Moms, Sex Education, Grace and Friankie, Atypical, Great News and How to Get Away with Murder.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am more than happy to share my travel experiences (and learnings) with everyone. My goal is to inspire, through my stories and learnings, the people that come my way.
