ABOUT ME

We enjoy what we do for a living, especially when we work on older homes because they have a story to tell. The older the house is, the more interesting we find it.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't want to get too heavy here, so I'll just say that family and close friends are extremely important, but it's important to go beyond that EVERY day. Volunteering for a charity is great, but are you connecting in a personal way with the people around you? Smile at a person passing you on the street, hold a door for the next person (yes, even women should do this), make eye contact with and talk to a homeless person. Say something nice to each person you deal with throughout the day (even those you don't particularly like). These are the things that will lift your spirits while making the world a better place.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

New to this, but I plan to begin hosting as soon as I get home. I live in a really cool area and I think that my family could offer a good experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First experience as a guest in Washington State. I have been a guest on two couches in the Seattle area and my hosts have been so wonderful that I never want to travel any other way! I will definitely become a host when I return home!

Interests

We like to hang out with small groups of friends... Good conversation, a bottle of wine and preparing a meal with our friends is a terrific way to spend an evening.
We enjoy camping in the country or hanging out in cities, just taking in the world around us. Every place and every day has new things to offer if we are open to it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Haven't made time to read much more than a newspaper lately.
I do love music, the type depends on my mood. Could be anything from rock to country to R&B and everything in between. Dave is mostly into rock.
We enjoy movies... For me, mostly romantic comedies and action movies, favorites would include Princess Bride and the Lethal Weapon series. Also, Willie Wonka with Gene Wilder. Dave prefers action movies, but usually enjoys whatever I pick out.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every day, the world appears more amazing to me. I am thankful for every day that I am given.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a pretty good home cook and I enjoy preparing a meal to share with new friends.
Dave and I also enjoy sharing stories, outdoor adventures and even our home repair knowledge and skills.
