About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see as many sunrises and sunsets the world has to offer. To eat all over the world. To make friends on every continent. Receive a post card from as many cities as possible. Dance, everywhere.

ABOUT ME

I love people. I like talking to people, listening to people, meeting new people, bumping into people I know. I just love it. It's what led me to study journalism. I'm passionate about people and the stories they have to share. I'm a pretty outgoing shy person / an introverted extrovert. I love to eat and trying new foods. And I love the feeling of dancing on a crowded dance floor with good friends surrounding me and good music blasting.

Most of all, I love travel. It's something I've always dreamed of doing, but never thought I would actually do. BUT that changed in uni when I decided that yes i deserved to go on a trip every summer and it's been the best decision.

I've just graduated from university with a bachelor of communication, with a major in journalism. What do I want to do with it? I'm not sure, yet. I've worked in my field a bit, but still trying to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life. I think it would be making documentaries, we'll see!

I like all music, except country (my city is nicknamed cow-town so you can imagine there is a lot of country related things). I love movies where nothing kind of happens. I love beautiful cinematography. Quite passionate about Daniel Radcliffe and Avatar the Last Airbender.

Currently the most beautiful sunrise was on a beach in Athens and the most amazing sunset was, funnily enough in my home town. Looking forward to seeing if that changes!

PHILOSOPHY

"Love all or perish." This is from Mitch Alboms book "Tuesdays with Morrie" (An honestly beautiful book, please read it!) and Morrie was quoting an old writer. I just think it's so beautiful and really the only way to live.

I also love this quote because 1) it's super aggressive way of saying be a good person and 2) it feels like a threat.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed in Paris, London, Prato (outside of Florence), and Athens. Each experience was so amazing. I met the most kind hearted people. They were funny, witty, and generous. I love couchsurfing because in order for this to work you have to a) have total trust in the goodness of people and b) be open to new experiences / new ways of life / new sorts of people.

I live with my mom and 3 siblings in a small condo, so as much as I love couch surfing and the idea of hosting, my mother would not agree (ha). So, currently I can't host but I hope to do so in the future when I have my own place.

Interests

People, books, movies, tv, fashion, photography, drawing, art, looking at pretty houses, travel, life, harry potter, Avatar the last airbender (The original cartoon/ anime NOT that awful movie), game of thrones! Eating too!

Music, Movies, and Books

Love Harry Potter, The perks of being a wallflower, Anything by John Green, Anything by Mitch Albom, Meg Cabot holds a very special place in my heart. But, really, I just love books.
As for movies I love The Fall, Harry Potter, 13 going on 30 (It's a classic!), a lot of others that would take too much time to write.
I'm really just into good music, you know? I love finding new stuff to listen to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. Woke up at 5 a.m, grabbed a cup of tea, and walked around in a heavy Himalayan thunder storm in Daramsala. The world was so quiet it was like I was the only one awake.

2. Skydived. It's the most beautiful, inspiring, scariest, relaxing, thing i've ever done in my entire life. Floating in the air makes you feel so small.

3. I've also watched the sun rise in a tiny little village in Ethiopia. It was breathtaking and really a moment that makes you feel glad to be alive.

4. Staying up all night to watch the sunrise in Budapest.

5. Traveling Europe with my best friend.

6. Waking up to the sunrise while camping at the beach in Athens. (I LOVE SUNRISES/SETS)

7. Watch shooting stars in the Sahara desert.

Teach, Learn, Share

Uh oh, well- I've been doing a lot of self reflecting lately and the most important thing I've learned is that you can choose to be happy. No matter what I go through I choose happiness. On a less philosophical note, I can make killer banana bread!
