About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to talk, talk, and never stop talking to each other
ABOUT ME
I'm currently working as a teacher in a 4th/5th grade classroom at an inclusion school called the Academy for Precision Learning. Having just received my certification as a behavior analyst, I hope to begin work as a behavior consultant after this school year ends. I live in Queen Anne with my best friend (and husband), Jon. I have been living in Seattle for almost three years, but love the chance to do more exploring.
PHILOSOPHY
I have learned to invest myself as much as I can in positive action. This keeps me balanced, curious and engaged.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My respect for Couch Surfing deepens as my experience within it grows. With every interaction, with every friendship that is born from this community, I become more and more passionate about the mission of CS. I want to host more, to travel more, to meet more couch surfers. It is so important for me as an individual, as I think it is important for all people, that I facilitate and encourage interaction that unites me in discussion, experience and (hopefully) friendships with others. I believe CS directly addresses our dominant social concern: alienation from one another and from ourselves. The simple act of "getting to know" someone and letting someone "get to know" you is the revolution I most heartily back, therefore... CS.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted a bit in Oregon and Seattle. I have surfed in France, Greece, Belgium, the Netherlands, Berlin, and Seattle.
Interests
I love theatre, good philosophical debates, lounging in my pajamas, teaching and learning from my students, speaking French, music I can sing and dance to, good food (ranging from deep-fried to local, organic and raw) and small group settings. I appreciate meeting people who are honest, kind and eager to make the most of the time they are given.

Music, Movies, and Books
movies: donnie darko, movern callar, the lives of others, harvey, a streetcar named desire, lord of the rings trilogy
Teach, Learn, Share
I love reading aloud in the evenings (who says storytime is only for kids?!). Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and LOTR are always on-hand in my home. I love theatre, so I like reading scenes together or discussing theatre/movies/psychological intent. I have worked for 3 years as a behavioral therapist (specifically children with autism) and could give great advice to parents of reg. ed. or special ed. kids that are having behavioral issues at home/school.
